Mattapan Farmers' Market
The MFFC sponsors a weekly farmers market in Mattapan Square on Saturday mornings from 10am-2pm July through October. This year, the market will be held in the parking lot of the Church of the Holy Spirit, 525 River St. form July 12th through October 11. At the market you can find a wide variety of fresh, affordable, locally grown fruits and vegetables from Milton's Brookwood Community Farm and other area farms. Farmers at the market accept WIC and Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Coupons.
Call for Vendors
The Mattapan Farmers Market is currently looking for additional vendors for the market. Artists, bakers, jewelers, specialty food producers and other vendors of food and crafts are invited to apply for a booth at the market. Mattapan Moving for Life
To promote the utilization of community resources for physical fitness, the Coalition is establishing an annual Mattapan Moving for Life fitness event. The event will include:
- Opportunities for non-competitive and family friendly walking and running.
- Traditional and non-traditional physical activities including dance, yoga, and stretching.
- Local physical fitness and sports programs as well as health promotion organizations and agencies will provide enrollment and health information.
Mattapan Moving For Life 2008 was held on May 17th at the Walker Playground. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success!
